Made to do VASC's dirty work, ED-209 is a series 7 Synthetic Infantryman and built do do it dirty.
Ostensibly a VASC company asset, "Lucky" (like most VASC synthetics) enjoys most of the same rights and privileges available to her organic co-workers, she has quarters, she draws pay, she has allotted social time - what she does not have, however is freedom of choice or freedom of movement. Hardwired deep in her programming is the subset that ensures absolute loyalty to VASC and the inability to harm and absolute compunction to protect VASC company employees from harm - even at the expense of her own safety.
Being a Synthetic Infantry (SI) grade android and a Series 7 does allow her some degree of operational latitude (unlike previous models) - as one of her instructors found out when he called her a "Wind-Up Girl" (derogatory term) and had his dentist bill increased.
Nicknamed "Lucky" by members of the Sec Div teams that she has served with due to a number of miraculous escapes from firefights facilitated by the synthetics' combat programming,.
ED-209 has a wry personality and at 7 ft 3ins she is hardwired to kick ass. Series - 7 represents the pinnacle of contemporary heuristic response systems and "Lucky" thinks and feels just like a human does - but with an increased level of strength, endurance and very little need for "Sleep".The downside is that is is not particularly agile - being a combat grade model with a chassis tending on the heavy side.
Technically Lucky knows that she's just product, a "Windup Girl", hardwired to be loyal to VASC without question, but deep down she suspects she is more and recently she has started to do the impossible, she has started to dream..........
