Abbey Rhodes was born on the L5 Luna Orbital colony - one of the many habitat stations that surround Earth's single moon, as such she possesses and Ectomorphic body type - tall and slender from a life spent in low to zero-g environments with a lower bone density that diminishes her strength and agility on earth-standard gravity environments or above.
Abbey was brought up with a predominantly working class background, raised by her father who was an orbital docking pilot operating interface tugs in the freight yards. Abbeys father was a hard man and not especially loving or attentive father, the one lesson he did impart to his daughter was an abiding belief in the trades union system - he was the Union Steward of the local chapter of the powerful LDU (Loaders & Dockers Union).
A passably smart child, Abbey developed a considerable set of streetwise life-skills growing up on the dockside and when she was 16 she stowed away on a bulk cargo freighter and worked her passage first as a deckhand and then as an interface shuttle pilot.
This led to a brief stint as a MEDEVAC pilot for IS Medcorp, which ended when she leaked the details of a scandal involving the sale of harvested medical organs to a rival corporation. Her contract was revoked and she faced possible criminal charges, so Abbey did what she does best and upped sticks and effectively dissapeared.
Abbey landed up in INSILICO city and with her newfound skills discovered that an affinity for hacking and and ability to realize the value of information could get a girl a long way in a hard town and she became nominally under the employ of the IS Syndicates as a data courier.
She gained work as a Taxi-Cab pilot, which proved both a perfect cover to transport valuable information and unregistered passengers around with little suspicion.
Everything was going well until a particularly important fragment of data she was carrying was intercepted by the authorities. Abbey was able to destroy the data, thus avoiding any complicated criminal charges, but her employers took a less than favorable view of this gambit and put a price upon her head.
So Abbey wound up on MARS, the arse end of the habitable solar system, hoping to shake her pursuers until the fuss dies down and she can figure out some way of making good with the Syndicates before they stamp her ticket for good.
Currently Abbey is the owner/operator of her own hover-cab, which she leases to Mars Transit Systems and has risen to some prominence as a Union Steward in the local chapter of the MWU (Mars Workers Union) - whilst the MWU is not nearly as universally powerful as the LDU - it affords her some leverage and a host of interesting possibilities for profit.......
