Combat

Combat is very common on mars, and open at all times, if you are outside your base and your IC you are subject to being attacked by the opposing faction. All combat is governed by the INSILICO K9 Combat Meter and the utilisation of the meter is compulsory. Please take the time to remove every possible script and HUD from your avatar that is not combat essential and use low lag weapons. If you’re using Phoenix or Firestorm you can right click your avatar and choose "S.Count" to see how many scripts are running, if you’re over 100 you are doing it wrong and causing server lag. Mars is the wild west of cyberpunk so feel free to play up the combat. If you are defeated even once you suffer wounds.

Below are a few tips for reducing your script count and ergo server lag:

  • Reduce draw distance. Within tunnels or on Mars in general you can reduce draw distance from 60-100 to speed up performance.
  • Lower graphics settings, usually med-high graphics settings are good enough if you are experience performance issues feel free to lower your settings even further. Anisotropic filtering and Anti-aliasing while normally enabled can also have slower performance during combat.
  • No stacking weapons: use one one weapon at a time, equipping multiple weapons causes lag and also not necessary, stacking weapons such as knives with your rifle or a pistol and gun is also not necessary.
  • Refrain from using the mini map or camming through walls to locate enemies, there is no way to enforce this however it detracts from the overall enjoyment for everyone.
  • When defeated stay down until you are revived by a team member. D'naa are the only exception. Once defeated a D'naa may teleport to a tent or predetermined location to respawn.

Wounds, Death and Dying

If you are defeated in K9 combat you suffer a wound which simply means you cannot be put back into combat until they are healed. Wounds can be removed with a medical check at the group’s clinic. Wounds are only important after combat is over and have to be attended too before you are put back into circulations. Some wounds require items to remove, see your local doctor for more information.

Medics

The medic is capable of attending wounds and damage in the field, Making sure the unit is healed and healthy the medic knows how to keep people alive and how to heal fallen comrades. Being one of the only classes that can use a K9 hud they are able to keep healing fallen comrades. Also sporting temperarory medical kits they throw on the ground they can heal within a whisper radius. Usually loaded up on medical supplies they can effectly turn a defeat into a victory when used properly. (No more than 30 active scripts)

Special Operations Group [SOG]

SOG is composed of elite units, players who know not only how to fight but how to trick out their equipment to the bare minimum of scripts. They know how to fulfill their roles as a tactical unit and the best ways to exploit their specialized field of expertise. A SOG is assigned a specific role they specialize in, each forming a squad of players who know their roles in combat as well as work as a team to optimize their advantage. These are a few of the specialized builds that SOG members are able to utilize:

Specialist

A specialist roles is to infiltrate and support with a series of augmented technologies. based on stolen technology from vasc and other companies. AGIS has been able to produce specialists units who can use weaponized space folding technologies. Granted it's in its infant stage and can only allow transport over only a few meter radius. It proves to be a tactical addition in the field to help squads infiltrate enemy areas. Also sporting a Shield bracer allowing overlapping shields to cut off enemy assaults and allow protection to squads in the field. With deployable mines and static charges the specialist is an elite unit. (specialists are allowed to use Fairlight AEGIS Shield Bracer & >SS< Omnitool 1.0, with no more than 25 scripts total.

Infiltrator

An infiltrator is a tactical unit which uses thermoptics and other technologies to camoflauge themselves by creating gravity wells to bend light. This allows them stealth and the ability to move nearly undetected. This unit runs no scripts in their thermoptics build allowing for use of grenades or a grappling hook and a weapon. A silenced weapon on auto is their preferred method of attack.

Airborne

Airborne is an elite unit that uses a modified gravity pack to glide and dash to desired locations, easily airdropped into a hot LZ they boast speed and evasion to conduct hit and run attacks. Masters at the sky they are able to move in quickly and get out dispatching enemies before they can respond and quickly escaping. (Players may use a FL AV6 Antigrav Pack from fairlight stripped to 6 scripts.)

Commando

The commando uses a grapple hook and can often be found repelling and hanging around. These elite commandos can hang in zero gravity and get around with ease. They are able to get into ambush spots and move in and out of hostile situations easily. They are also able to latch onto enemy players allowing them unable to escape their attacks. A commando is a deadly opponent and should not be taken lightly. (Commando units use Fairlight XW Gravplate Grapple Bracer 1.1 with only 3 scripts.)

Weapons Specialist

The weapons specialist uses the most experimental technologies to date. Often sporting test prototype weapons they ensure to affect the battlefield. (this unit is allowed to you the [PRO-WIN] - [SINGULARITY PROJECTOR], while not able to inflict damage it can tie up players and vehicles in its vacinity.

Demolitions Expert

The demolitions Expert is capable of throwing down C4 and mines on an enemy location or who can pop in grenades and flashbangs to confuse the enemy. Capable of dropping smoke for cover or to call in a friendly transport the Demolitions expert knows how to set off explosives. They are also known for laying down multiple mines and explosives into a radius then picking them up all at once for later use. (the Demolitions expert is allowed to use the D1&MTG Grenade HUD 1.1, wich runs no more than 3 scripts total.)
